Planet Hollywood advice please

We%26#39;re going to Planet Hollywood July 15th for three nights. I%26#39;m told it will be very hot. Can anyone tell me if the pool there has any shade? Also, I noticed there%26#39;s no cabanas there-can you book a cabana for a day at another resort if you are not a guest of the hotel? Also on our last day our flight is not till the evening at 9 p.m. Can you arrange late check outs, what can we do with our luggage? Any suggestions? This is why I was wondering about day privileges perhaps at another resort like the Mirage for the last day. Any help and suggestions would be most appreciated for my Mum and I. Thanks:)

Yes, a late checkout can be arranged. Most hotels charge for something like this and I think the latest some allow you to stay is 2:00pm. You can check your bags with the bell desk at any hotel, just make sure you tip. As far as renting cabana%26#39;s, I do believe most hotels only rent to thier guests, for that matter most are already booked considering its the hot months.

Be prepared for a long afternoon and evening at the airport unless you want to get a rental car for the day and check out some sites.

I wouldn%26#39;t go the the airport a minute sooner than you have to. You are able to check your bags with the hotel. Spend the day at the pool, even though you have checked out you are still allowed to use the pool and showers. This is very common and usually enocouraged by the hotel. The longer they can keep you there the better for them. THERE IS NO NEED TO GO TO THE AIRPORT AT 2:00pm and spend the next 7 hours there. That would be a huge waste.

Thanks very much for the advice folks. I%26#39;m thinking it might be a good idea to check out and go to another resort, check our bags with the bell desk and hang out at the pool.I%26#39;d like to see another pool area-which pools are people%26#39;s favourites? I%26#39;ve heard that the Mirage and MGM Grand both have great pool areas:)

just so you know that they will check room keys at the pool at MGM and other hotels that have great pools.

...ok...forgive my ignorance, but if you check out of the hotel you have actually been staying in and leave your bags with the bell desk till your flight that night surely you are allowed to continue to use the hotel facilities? I won%26#39;t have a room key to show so how does it work? Also, can you arrange day use of a resort%26#39;s pool area ?

There is no shade at the PH pool.

You can check out via the TV or telephone and hold on to your key to access the pool, then drop it in fast drop box at the bottom of the elevators. Of course that%26#39;s assuming the key will still work in the slot at the pool door once you%26#39;ve checked out.

there is a few pools you can use (not all hours you need to check)

all cost $$

bare at mirage, pool is adult pool, also hard rock

yes....there are plenty of shady areas poolside from the various surrounding buildings.

the idea of relocating to another resort on your final day sounds like an awful and needless idea in my humble opinion.I would simply hang out at the pool/casino area or do whatever you want to do after checking your luggage at PH.Having said that, arranging for a late checkout seems like the best plan.

Many hotels will allow you to rent a room for a half day for a fee if space permits. You can call the front desk the morning of your departure and inquire about this option.

If you are interested in seeing another hotel%26#39;s facilities, why not consider visiting a spa on your day of departure. Both Qua and Canyon Ranch are nearby and highly regarded. For a fee you can use the spa facilities all day. If you book a treatment, use of the facilities is included.
