TR-Signature, Manilow, Celine and MUCH MORE

AirTran:

Out of Atlanta. First class (well, for AirTran) Smooth sailing. However, on the way back: Delayed three hours. Got diverted to Columbus, GA. Took 1.5 hours to get bags. SUCKED. No help from AirTran. If you can%26#39;t find your bags on the carousel, CHECK THEM ALL. They had moved our bags from Carousel 4 to 1 with NO updates on the arriving screens. Thanks a bunch. Back to Delta for me.

Signature:

Will post under hotel. As far as I%26#39;m concerned, the only place to stay. Great summer rates. QUIET as a church. For us, the walk to MGM wasn%26#39;t bad. With all I ate, needed the exercise! Busier than last year but still not the madhouse of most casinos. Very sleek, new and smells GREAT.

Celine:

First off, I%26#39;m not a fan. THAT being said, the energy, dancers and strong voice sold me. Was in orchestra, 5th row so could see the few lines on her face! Some of the show is a bit dark and dramatic.

The Producers:

Oh my god. Hilarious. VERY VERY professional company. Not a huge theater. Was in 5th row front so could see them sweat!

Manilow:

OK. So I%26#39;m a fan. He looks MAHVELOUS. Voice a bit gravely at first, drank some water and sounded like the old Barry. Did most of his big hits with the big Copacabana wrap up. 10th row for him which was fine. Anyone in my age group will appreciate the memories the music stirs.

Les Artiste Steak House:

Paid for the pre-show dinner, prix fixe-68.50 each. There was confusion when we got there about what we were to get. Told them it was online. We got the to DIE for prime rib. To make up for the confusion, get this, they gave us EACH a 24 ounce portion. For the first time in my life, couldn%26#39;t clean the plate! Alex was typical excellent French Waiter and took our pic for us.

Mesa Grill:

By far, the best meal of the trip. Pre show dinner for Celine. Wine and cocktail pairings. The wife had the expertly seasoned and grilled ribeye. I had the scallops. No words to describe the experience. Top notch. Will return.

Cafe Bellagio:

Lunch. Great waiter but food so so. Cold fries. Overcooked burger.

Le Cafe at Paris:

Lunch. Tuna sandwich. Not much better than Subway but OK. Her steak sandwich was good.

Studio Cafe at MGM:

Breakfast each morning. Our favorite spot. Huge portions. Could do brunch there. Hot and tasty.

Puck at MGM:

Our favorite lunch spot. Ate there twice and got the SAME THING it was so good. She had the mesquite steak skewers and I had the mozzarella, tomato and basil pizza. Special flavored teas. Excellent and reasonably priced.

Shopping:

Covered most casinos. Yes, had to stop at Movado Boutique at Venetian. Love that place. Still working on PH, formerly the Aladdin.

Gambling:

OK. We%26#39;re slot low rollers HOWEVER, and I don%26#39;t know if this is your experience. Did not see any big winners on slots. They are TIGHT. We played mostly MGM properties. We had racked up 750 points losing about 40 bucks at most and got NOTHING COMPED. MGM says you need 1000 points. I want to find those folks on here that say they gambled 200 bucks and got meals and such comped. I listened to you folks and DID NOT chase comps. They did give us 25 bucks in free slot play. You can go through 20 bucks in quarter slots in five minutes now. I%26#39;m curious how many THOUSANDS of dollars some of you must gamble to get free rooms and such. Of course, with all the free drinks we got...hehehehe.....we did OK!

I want to thank you folks on this forum for great tips and trip reports. I%26#39;ll be willing to answer any and all questions.

Thanks for the report!

Thanks for sharing TR i always fly Delta Bos-Atl never will take Airtran.

My husband has been going to vegas at least 2 to 3 times a year for the past 18 years and he as always said that the slots at MGM are the tightest slots around... also, since the merger of mgm with bellagio, mirage, mandalay bay, etc. the comp system has changed dramatically. free play is about all that you%26#39;ll get if you are low rollers like us... sad...

Good TR............thanks for sharing.

Glad to hear that Barry is in good voice as I have my 2nd row seats booked for September and i%26#39;m really looking forward to seeing him perform again.

I was wondering about seeing The Producers...........do tickets need to be purchased in advance or will I be able to get them once i%26#39;m there?

What I have found is that by CALLING, they always seem to get me better seats than going through the computer. It is not a huge theater BUT will a show, its nice to be close. We were fifth row center. Thought it was PERFECT. Probably even 10 rows back would be great. As for waiting to buy tickets, it depends on when you go. If you want premium seats, I%26#39;d probably call ahead. Some folks here to the 1/2 price ticket booth at that coca cola place but I haven%26#39;t done that. Maybe they can share info as to WHAT kind of seats you can get through the big coke!

I have found that it is QUITE easy to blow through 20 bucks in quarters in under five minutes. The nickel slots give ya longer play but if you%26#39;re looking for the big payout, 2000 nickels is what the big payout will be on a lot of the machines.

With all the mess in the UK...missed it by ONE DAY flying back. Scary.

Looks like you had a very good time at The Sig.

Thank you for opinions on the shows and the food. I liked the new look of Wolfgang Puck%26#39;s. Especially the service.

Haven%26#39;t eaten at Studio Cafe since 04. Glad they stayed good.

For comps, just gamble what you gamble, and if you get money back at the end, then fine. 2 trips ago we only lost about $600 there. But that means we gamblked much more. My cartd was around 1,000 and didin%26#39;t check the wife%26#39;s card. We only got abour $65 off, but didn%26#39;t expect much. They did note we%26#39;d already received some good comps up front.

In contrast this last trip, we were up about $400 or so on two slots, and instead of cashing out we decided to keep playing and have fun. Of course our points went higher, but the $400 would have paid for rooms and several dinners.....

Just have fun and never worry about comps if you%26#39;re a low roller like us....

Appreciate the comments. We thought we had actually done enough to get comped at least one meal. Last year, signed up for WYNN and got 500 points giving us that freebie great buffet they had.

Hi -- thanks for posting your TR, enjoyed all of the info!
