Comps

Keep reading about comps, how does this work, do we need to sign up for a players club card and what do you get free, ie if we spent 50 dollars a day on the slots.

Sorry if sound stupid, but have tried hard to understand the comp system, and it is our first time to vegas and were coming from the UK.

Comps

Though I am not the comp expert, it will vary according to the property and denomination you play. Also, with that $50, depending on your luck, you may be sitting at the slots playing with that same $50 for hours. You will have hundreds played through the machine and that is what the comps are based on.

Everyone warns not to play for comps, but they are nice when you get them. Try to play at your home casino or group of affiliated casinos, and charge meals to your room if you can, then they can be taken off your bill at the end if your play qualifies. Again, don%26#39;t play over your budget just to get comps, you are better off just paying for the buffet or whatever it is.

Comps

Hello, yes the only way you are able to recieve comps is to sign up for a ';players card'; If you do sign up for one you will need to focus you playing on casinos linked to that card... If you have a MGM players club,, that is connected to MGM grand, the mirage and bellagio... That card will be accepted there. But if you are like me I play all over the place and really dont have the time to get a card from each of the casino%26#39;s. If you are only playing say,, under 200 a day,, I do not see that you will recieve any ';great'; comps. But then again I may be wrong, mostly you will just recieve e-mail and flyers asking you to return at a ';discount rate';. Which they will give you a ';discount'; code to book your room.

If you look around online you will be able to find these savings codes. I believe a website that post these coddes are fatwallet. com

I hope that I have helped in some way!

Right got it, were not big players and not bothered about freebies but i guess if were lucky we may get a free buffet, i doubt we would be more successful than that, but its all fun, and im hoping to come back a little more knowledgeable about poker etc, not the same practising with hubbie .

Slots and roulette for me.

Here%26#39;s a little insight into players card comps~

http://www.slotadvisor.com/casino-comps.html

Go to harrahs website, they have a whole section about comps. But basically on slots for any of their casinos, each 5.00 coin in gets you one reward credit. bonuses are rewarded, but i looked recently and buffet was 1000 reward credits.

Also, sign up for a card on venetian%26#39;s website and you get $15 in play after you print out the confirmation page and take it with you.

Your going to get nothing in comps for $50 a day playing slots.

You might get lucky and be one of those people that walk up to a machine and pop it for thousands.

There is NO easy answer to comps. Different Hotels have different ways of evaluating comps. Hotels that are less expensive to stay in will usually give you more and better comps then the pricier ones.

I would not be concerned about how much you should gamble to get comps, your on vacation, and dont try to chase comps, if your gambling enough the Hotel will see this.

You will get faster comps playing $1.00 on up slots then .25 cent slots, again time spent at the machine also counts for higher points that your racking up.

Some Hotels such as The Mirage will comp you a room with 6000 points per day, the more points the more comps.

Again Comps run the gamut. One should NOT chase them, if you feel obligated in any way that you have to gamble to get comps then it%26#39;s time to pay for everything.

Hi Sharon....you%26#39;ve given me some great advice over on the Dubai forum. Thanks ! I%26#39;m currently counting the days till we go to LRM for a week. so will more than likely be firing more questions at you soon !

Back to you OP. We were in Vegas in March this year and had a wonderful stay at Bellagio plus we took an extra day (due to a great rate ) and stayed at the Venetian. Now as to the comps.....

I registered on line before I left the UK for both Bellagio and Venetian players clubs. With the Venetian we got a credit of $20 to play with , which was good fun and I came out winning about $90 ( a real high roller lol) With the Bellagio we got no credits or anything special for signing up....we followed the advice from TA forums and charged everything to our toom in the hope of even having a free buffet. BUT on checking out we received zilch.......we did not expect or build our hopes up for anything and we were not high rollers...maybe $50 + at a time most days.

So long story short...I think it depends where you play, how much you play and whether your really playing to get comps or playing for fun....I think too much is made about the comps and people start to think its this great freeby, which IMO its not.

BUT, we had a brill time, had fun and also a few small wins on the slots etc so we really didn%26#39;t mind in the least when the desk attendant said ';sorry we cant comp you anything on this trip'; because we had loved every minute of our stay there.

Go with the thought of a comp being like a win on the slots and if you get either its great. ! Good luck and hope you have a great time !

Any questions I can help you with, feel free to ask.

Thanks again for your help

Whats good about the Harrahs players card is that you can play at Harrahs, Flamingo, Ceasers, Rio, and Paris and you can rack up alot points that way. I%26#39;m going in early August and Harrah%26#39;s gave me 2 free nights. I consider myself a lower tier player averaging at most $200.00 a day gambling.

Good Luck
