Hi! I am going to Vegas soon and thought it might be fun to try Baccarat. Can anyone give me any suggestions on where to play, what are the typical table limits? Thanks.
Baccarat tips?
Most likely what you will end up playing is Mini Bacc. Baccarat itself is usually played in the high limit areas at $100 a hand minimum. Mini Bacc can be played at some hotels for $5 minimum. Last time I was in therethe Orleans and Gold Coast had $5 minimums, Stardust, Riviera, Frontier all have $10 minimum games.
Baccarat tips?
CamFam - I had a great run of beginner%26#39;s luck at the mini bac table in Binion%26#39;s. $5 min.
The smart money bets on Bank, but make sure you have enough cash to cover the tarrif on your winning bets when you leave
Sowhat does happen if u break but owe commision for bank bets? I%26#39;m talking no cash whatso ever on you, or credit cards.
You%26#39;re in trouble, big trouble.
The thing with Mini-bac is that the dealers will normally explain the bank commision thing to you if you start betting on bank and look like you might not know.
In proper bac, they won%26#39;t explain it, you%26#39;re supposed to know how the game goes.
If memory serves they might %26#39;remind%26#39; you if the chips you%26#39;ve got in front of you are getting close to your outstanding commission. Someone who works the tables would doubless be able to explain the policy better. I%26#39;m just a punter.
They wouldn%26#39;t do squat if you were broke. I%26#39;ve seen it happen to my buddy at the Mirage in their Baccarat pit. He lost all is money, told the dealer he was broke %26amp; sorry %26amp; just walked away with his pockets turned inside out.
Can someone explain the lure of this game? All I know is you sit down, put your money on the bank and you have a fifty/fifty chance of winning. How is this different then betting on black over at the roulette table. Thanks!
Well, KLMW, how about THIS difference?
Roulette (Black, Red, Any number or combinations) House Edge = 5.27%
Baccarat (Player ) House Edge = 1.24%
Baccarat (Banker) House Edge = 1.01%
You could also ask, ';What%26#39;s the difference between running around a track with a 1.24Ft. hurdle placed every 10 feet and running around a track with a 5.27 foot hurdle placed every 10 feet?';
Question: If the house edge when betting on the player is only .23% higher, wouldn%26#39;t one do better betting on the player%26#39;s hand and not having to pay a commission on the winnings? Yet all the advice I%26#39;ve ever seens says bet on banker%26#39;s hand.
