so i was just wondering... are all y%26#39;all staying at the bellagio between september 9-14 going to try and use the 20 dollar trick to get all the good rooms?? ha... j/k
does that actually work at the bellagio?? seems to me, inflation would make 20 bucks in vegas seem like 5 dollars....
if you%26#39;ve tried the 20 dollar trick @ bellagio, did it work? What room were you upgraded from and what room did you get? Did you book directly through the hotel or through a website or travel agent?
Just wondering...
i had never even heard of such a trick before I came to TA
Thanks for amusing me!
And Happy 4th of July to everyone!!
So, I was just wondering about something...$20 at the Bellagio is less than some people tip the valet.
We booked a lakeview room direct for $249 for 10 nights,now have 8@ $149.
The next upgrade would be a salone suite with no view ,or a Bellagio suite with no view.
We are going for the view and an upgrade for us would actually be a downgrade.
You can ask nicely for an upgrade with a view and if you get it then tip.
So, I was just wondering about something...So, what would you tip if you get your upgrade?
Personally and I do not want to get flamed for this I would not humiliate myself or the clerk by offering a bribe.
I will pay for what I want, ask for a complimentary up grade and if given would then tip based on room given and length of stay.
If I got a Salone suite with a view for 10 nights,I would tip at least $100 and for a Bellagio suite lakeview at least $200
oh i%26#39;m not going to flame you... my husband an i always stay at bellagio and his sentiments are the same as yours... we booked the salone suite because we know better than to rely on upgrades, but i was just wondering how much you would tip if they upgraded us to a bellagio suite or something. he%26#39;s been a couple of times where they%26#39;ve upgraded him to the penthouse... i didn%26#39;t know if they expected a tip for doing such a thing and/or how much to tip... thanks so much for the reply!
why degrade oneself to get an upgrade for a $20 bribe....which is not a tip.Tips are for services already provided.
i agree
If someone is given a free upgrade, its up to the individual if they want to give the person a tip or not. I certainly don%26#39;t think its mandatory to do so.
Last time I stayed at Bellagio (I%26#39;d been there several times) we booked a lakeview room because my husband had never been to Vegas before and since he is from the England, I wanted so much for him to love Vegas! I never leave anything to chance, if I want an upgraded room safest way to get one is to book it. I%26#39;d also never try to have money in my hand when asking about a free upgrade, not my style at all!
I%26#39;d think that anything less than a $50 would be deemed ridiculous and also would be a little tacky at a place like Bellagio, Wynn etc.
Yeah, I agree. I was just curious as to how many people actually tried it at places like Bellagio and Wynn. My husband and I had never heard of the 20 dollar trick before we found TA... We usually don%26#39;t leave things to chance either. ...
