Suggestion for Honeymoon Hotel

Hi,I%26#39;m planning on my first visit to Las Vegas end of May 2005. It will be my honeymoon and I%26#39;m absolutely confused about which hotel to pick. My requirements are :-1. Reasonable price (not cheap but also not the Bellagio Suites)2. Fairly Central Location.3. Preferably somwhere that can guarentee a non smoking room. Any suggestions greatfully received.Any other useful sites or ideas also greatfully received. Thanks in advance.

Suggestion for Honeymoon Hotel

Hi, If you can get a good rate, I would recommend the Bellagio! We%26#39;ve stayed there and loved it! Very romantic, especially if you get a Fountain View room. Venetian is another place that is very nice. I also like Mirage and we%26#39;re staying in Treasure Island this Dec. All of these hotels have great locations. Mandalay Bay is also first class, and has the best pool in Vegas, but is at the end of the strip. Still a gorgeous hotel. Have not stayed at Caesar%26#39;s Palace but this is always a Las Vegas classic. Usually, Las Vegas hotels are cheaper mid-week, and then goes up on Fridays and Saturdays, so it%26#39;s something you might want to consider when it comes to price. Also, when you book. ask and make sure you are guaranteed a non-smoking room. We%26#39;ve never had any problems getting a non-smoking room. Also, mention that you are honeymooners, and they might do something nice for you also.

Suggestion for Honeymoon Hotel

I agree with the previous poster...Bellagio, Venetian, Mandalay Bay, Mirage are all great. Personally, for a special honeymoon, I would go with Caesar%26#39;s Palace. In my opinion, it has the best pool area in LV, even better than Mandalay Bay. It also has the #1 location, smack in the center of the strip (right next to Bellagio). If Caesar%26#39;s or Bellagio are too expensive but you want the great location, go across the street to Flamingo. Same ideal location, less expensive, but still nice...definitely not a dump. Good luck!

Thank you both for your help.

I%26#39;ll give some of the hotels mentioned a call see what I can work out. I%26#39;ve already checked out there websites.

Can%26#39;t wait :o)

Thanks again

Martin

I got married at Treasure Island, and would recommend checking their web page for a good deal. Fantastic service and ameneties. Their pool is small, but they have just updated it. A good thing about a small pool are is less people. The location can%26#39;t be beat either. 6 stays and never a complaint.

The Mirage is another good choice, and right next to TI.

Both TI and Mirage have reasonable to fancy places to eat, and the quality of the food is consistently good. Another point, they have the best location to go out and find cheaper tables, as Harrah%26#39;s, Imperial Palace, Barbary Coast and Casino Royale are close by. And still walking distance to Bellagio, Paris, Aladdin, Ceasar%26#39;s, etc. I think your best shot for a truly nice place to stay, from service to food, at a good rate, would be one of these two casinos.

I have seen rooms at Bellagio for as low as $130 a night, but never less. If you were to splurge, I%26#39;d say do it there. It really does have wonderful service, and it is not huge like the Venetian or Ceasars. It has a more intimate feel.

Ceasars is, well, Ceasars. Expensive, wonderful, etc, etc.

Mandalay Bay does have a nice (crowded) pool area, but I feel the restaurant choices are limited if you are on any kind of budget. I find even the coffee shop to be limited and expensive. They are at the end/begining of the strip, so it is a bit of an ordeal to get anywhere, meaning it gets old after a while. It is my least favorite hotel. It trys hard to be in the league with Bellagio and Ceasars, but it falls short. It gets lots of convention traffic, and just seems like a big rip off.

Aladdin is very big, and the casino is very noisy--it%26#39;s a zoo. Don%26#39;t like it there either (but, good restaurants and the shopping is good too). Luxor seems empty--have stayed twice. I had a very bad stay at the Flamingo (long lines and bad service). MGM is just huge and the cheapest rooms are awful--spend your money somewhere else. NYNY is fun to look at, but seems to be overpriced all the time.

Some friends had a good stay at Harrah%26#39;s. And also at Bally%26#39;s. Paris gets lots of convention folk, and I%26#39;ve found the food to be inconsistent here, and the service as well.

I have family from abroad, they have stayed in Imperial Palace when they would come for 10 days or more. It is a dump. BUT the rooms are dirt cheap (they paid $40 night), and it has a prime location. But, it%26#39;s a dump.

Monte Carlo is large, but it never seems crowded. There is a wave pool, a river pool and a regular, freeform pool. A fast food court, as well as decent restraunts. I%26#39;d only choose here if it was a considerable savings over TI, Mirage. Not nearly as nice, so I would have to compensate with a large savings.

Good Luck!

One more thing...I don%26#39;t think you will find anywhere that will %26#39;guarntee%26#39; you a non-smoking room. You can book it, and request it, but a hotel here can always fall back on the fact that it is %26#39;on request%26#39;. You can request when you book, again when you confirm. And when you check in, ask again. The hotels in Vegas are large, and most likley your request will be granted (I always request N/S and get it).

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Treasure Island and booked the whole

vacation at www.expedia.com The Vacation Package is the best way to go.

You can book your air, hotel, limo, car rental everything here together and they

will give you one total price. No separate booking and you save money in the

long run. We stayed there 3 years ago and decided to say in one of the Suites.

We stayed in the Executive Suite which is amazing!! The suite is done in gold

and cream colors and two bathrooms. My bathroom was one in marble with

a makeup mirror and the largest jacuzzi tub I have ever seen. We both fit

in the jacuzzi easily and we are not small people. The other bathroom had

a telephone and marble with a sit-down shower. Two televison in the suite.

One is a pop up televison that you press the remote and the tv comes up

from this chest so you can watch while in bed. The bed is surrounded by

mirrors and lovely. Floor to ceiling windows with a great view. A bose radio

and much more. Go to www.treasureisland.com and click on rooms and suites.

There is a large picture of the Executive Suite and it is amazing. Every evening

we found candy on our bed and a note saying sweet dreams. Everyone was

nice and helpful. They offer a car rental here at the hotel also. The pool is ok

but this place is wonderful. They have a Tram that you can ride on that takes

you next door to the Mirage and next to that is Caesars Palace. They also

have a Spa which is wonderful the Mud Bath is so relaxing. We stayed here

for 5 nights and the total for our whole package was 1,500. They might have

raised it not sure but this place is amazing and the suites are grand!!

My husband and I had our honeymoon at the Luxor, they are very reasonable and quite a romantic and enchanting resort to stay at. We have had the jacuzzi suite and the jr 1 bedroom suite. Never been dissapointed w/ the suites. Great nightlife and fine dining choices. Best rates are w/ the hotels website.

I am going on my honeymoon in Vegas on November 15th, we were looking for the same type of hotel, and we came up with New York,New York....they have remodeled rooms with gauranteed KING size beds( which has been hard to get...the guarantee..)and a flat screen tv, marble bathrooms...for about $129 a night....so we%26#39;ll see...Everyone I%26#39;ve spoken to that%26#39;s been there says it%26#39;s really nice....Hope that helps...:-)

xtina,

We just stayed at NYNY 2 weeks ago. This is our third time staying at NYNY. The Hotel is wonderful, the employees are very friendly and helpful. Just a little advice. Request a room off of the New Yorker elevator. This elevator is off by itself and less crowded than the centrally located Century elevator. Also, request a room close to the elevator. Some of the rooms are a very, very long walk from the elevator.

We had a king suite w/jacuzzi. It is a very nice room. For some reason though, they have placed all dim lightbulbs in their light fixtures. Its OK unless you like to read. It makes the room seem dark. Since it is your honeymoon, you may want to let them know that and maybe you can upgrade to a large suite. We had a large suite last year and it was *wonderful*. Very spacious, bright and had everything from a kitchen area, to living area with wrap around couch, bedroom and a huge bath w/jacuzzi.

Anyway, have a great time. NYNY is in a super location, right across from MGM, Excalibur, Luxor and next to the Monte Carlo.
