I%26#39;m booked in to Caesars from 23rd to 30th November. I know i can check in at the Airport, so thats all sweet. Thing is , i have booked in the UK through a travel agent, and knowing that my package is dirt cheap compared to the standard Virgin travel price, i assume my room won%26#39;t be the greatest.
I hear rumour of tipping the check in staff at the airport, etc. Has ayone actually done this or is it urban myth. How much, and when in proceedings is this done?
Many thanks
tlj
Stayed in Luxor last time, great room, no problems.
Caesars RoomsCaesar%26#39;s is one of the best in Las Vegas, and it%26#39;s location is right on the center of the strip, so location can%26#39;t be beat ! Have stayed here once, just a standard room, and I really liked this hotel. In my opinion, this is the best themed hotel in Vegas, and has one of the nicest pool(although Nov might be too cold to swim in). Not sure about tipping to get an upgrade, never tried it before. It%26#39;s a gamble(hey this is Vegas). Who knows, you might even get an upgrade upon checking in.
Caesars RoomsI stayed at Caesars in April and found them to be very difficult to deal with. Checked in at airport and 11am, they gave me my room number but said we couldn%26#39;t get in until 5pm!. Went up to the floor the room was on, and tipped the housekeeper 20 bucks, and I was in my room by noon. Don%26#39;t know about tipping for an upgrade, I have posted the same question earlier today. I have heard that this can be done, but wondered if anyone had ever tried it.
Tipping is something that most hotels in Vegas expect especially the ones on the Strip.
You can give whatever you want as far as tipping goes but they might charge a
certain tipping for carrying your bags to your room and things like that. I do know
that transportation can be alot especially buses and cabs. They do have a Tram
System that is free and is very helpful so you do not have to walk everywhere.
Getting downtown vegas you will need other transportation like cab or bus.
I%26#39;m not sure the price but I do remember it is alot. Caesars rooms are nice but
the place is in the middle of everything which is great but they might have some
hidden cost and this place is pricey on drinks and things but so is most places
on the Strip.
Good Luck
I had once asked a coworker of mine who goes to Vegas maybe once or twice a month, about this same thing a while back ago. He mentioned that he%26#39;s done it a few times. The last time when he went, he was at Harrahs. He had asked the checkin clerk politely that he would appreciate if she can give them a very nice room, slipped $20. She looked at her computer and she gave them a suite! So, it does happen. We did this one time also, when we saw a show in Las Vegas. My husband gave the usher $20, and asked nicely that this is a special occassion and if we can get a couple of nice seats, we were front and center! So, it is possible.
Thanks guys, nothing ventured, nothing gained. If sucessfull, i%26#39;ll report back !
Be aware that by not booking direct you lessen your chances of an upgrade.
Hotel often assign a block of the worst rooms in the house to Trave Agents since they are prepaid and you have room to complain.
Some of the older rooms in Caesars still have Murphy beds in the rooms.
You disappoint me firsttimer!
You%26#39;ll be pleased to know that tlj did report back to the forum to say the $20 trick worked for him back in 04..... :-)
Damm damm damm, just finished a 13 hr night shift and sitting here with a cup of tea and a bacon buttie(remember those blagger). So that confirms it blagger ,time for bed....................lol lol lol
We did the $20 trick twice at Caesars. The first time we had booked a vacation package thru America West airlines. We had booked a Palace Tower room. We went to check in at 10am, and the guy said the room wasn%26#39;t ready. I handed him a $20, and he said, ';Oh wait a minute - here%26#39;s one!'; And we ended up on the top floor with a gorgeous view.
The second time we went, we were comped for 2 nights thru a host. She had made the reservation. We got to the check-in, and I handed the guy a $20. We ended up with the worst room in the place, I swear! Overlooked the top of some building; light bulbs burned out in the bathroom; etc. It was a horribly, worn out room, too.
That was the last time we stayed at Caesars and the last time we wasted a $20.
So I guess it works sometimes, and sometimes it does not.
Bacon Buttie First? I don%26#39;t want to know....lol
Anyone answering remember...this is a post from 2004.... supplying info is okay...expecting the OP to answer is not....
