I will be staying at Hilton Thanksgiving week. I%26#39;ve read that the shuttle (monorail) is finished. Are all stops completed end to end? The $25 3 day pass seems a good deal?
shuttleVery GOOD indeed !!
shuttle
If you%26#39;re going before Dec. 15, you probably don%26#39;t want to get your tickets in advance. Check out www.lvmonorail.com. The monorail is currently down and may not be open for your trip.
The shuttle would be a great deal if they could open. The system was shut down because a wheel fell off of one of the cars.
Too bad because it looks real nice.
From what I%26#39;ve heard, the monorail hasn%26#39;t been up and running since around Sept. 9th. We used the monorail in July and loved it. It had a few glitches but it was much better than walking around from place to place in the heat. We are going to Vegas in 10 days. I hope it will be up and running by then.
thanks - may rent a car as there are 3 of us
I hate to be the harbinger of bad news.. but....I recently saw on a website talking about the MGM Hotel, that the monorail shuttle is currently closed - with no reopening date yet.Check it out - because it saves A LOT of walking. You may want to consider another more convenient hotel or plan on taking some taxis with this shuttle being closed.Have a great trip in spite of this!
Hi. I stayed at the Hilton Sept 2003 and it really is only a 15 minute casual walk to the strip or a 10 minute walk to the back of the Riviera, where you can then walk through the building. I was back in Vegas Sept of this year and the monorail had been closed for repairs as a wheel had fallen off - it was open for 1 day and the same thing happened again! Apparently for speed up and down the strip it is great. For cost, the buses cannot be beaten. A 24 hour pass is $5 and can be used on the entire bus system, not just the strip itself. Unless you are intending to go outside of Vegas there really is no need to hire a car. Hope this helps.
