Travel to strip and back from downtown?

Thinking about staying downtown at the 4 queens. Are there any shuttles between downtown and the strip? What is the cheapest way to go without having to rent a car? I am a solo traveller, so any hints/help is appreciated. thank you.

The Deuce (a double decker bus) can be quite slow at times, but an all day pass is only $5. It runs along the strip and to/from downtown. Here is a link for more info:

There are no direct shuttles. You could take the shuttle to Sam%26#39;s Town and then take the Sam%26#39;s Town shuttle to the strip- but that would be a long journey- although for free. The cheapest practical way- the Deuce bus. It can be slow and crowded but it will get you to the strip and back. A cab would be the fastest way- but that would cost you $15-20.

It is question of time and money, but then again what isn%26#39;t.

Duecs Bus cheap ($5.00 for a 24 hour pass) but can be crowded and can get stuck in traffic on the Strip.

A taxi costs more but avoids the traffic on teh Strip and is as crowded as you wish it to be.

I forgot to add, don%26#39;t to walk that distance unless you are into street people.

According to some even after being robbed you can walk from Downtown to Hooters in an hour and a half. Ok enough fun. The bus (duece) is likely the best way to go. Now they did have a shuttle to sam%26#39;s town which also stopped at Mgm so maybe you could hitch a ride on that one.

Deuce is the cheapest, but may god be with you, if you taking it on a hot summer afternoon.

Be advised, that if you take a cab to the strip and back, will cost you $30, and you can add that to whatever you paying to 4Queens, and stay at a cheap hotel, near the strip (Orleans, Gold coast, etc)

Two options:

1. Taxi ($20 +/- depending on traffic and your final strip destination)

2. The Deuce (which runs about every 10 minutes or so). It%26#39;s public transportation so it%26#39;s cash only ($2.00 each way or $5.00 all day pass) and you will have your fill of ';local color'; on the bus as well as the ';tourists';. On weekdays, it takes about 35 minutes to center-strip. On weekends, the trip can last an hour+. Pick up at 4th %26amp; Fremont or Main %26amp; Fremont downtown.

3. You can also walk , but don%26#39;t try this in the summer months!!! It%26#39;s further than it looks!!!

You actually could also take the #108 city bus, which you pick up in front of the railroad cars between the Plaza and the Main St. Station- you will see the sign on a light pole there. It is only $1.25 ( and I know there is an all day pass, but forget what it costs). It goes sort of a back way trough some of the dicier areas you wouldn%26#39;t want to walk through and will stop across the street from the Stratosphere Hotel. That is where you should get off as after that it goes off Strip. It might be one way to cut out the most unsavory part of the walk from Downtown and have a variety of transportation options that leave from or pass by the Strat. It doesn%26#39;t get crowded like the Deuce and though it only takes you part of the way, you are then in an area where it is much safer to walk south down the rest of the Strip-

The logical way is cab. The cattle car, I mean bus, is going to be HOT and crowded.

Why dont you just stay someplace cheap near or on the strip?

Diceman, I can%26#39;t believe you included the CC in your list.
