Conditions on Promos (read fine print)

The Luxor Promo had these terms:

Also, this might not be new to promos, but Luxor%26#39;s promo had these conditions:

Terms and Conditions: •Offer is non-refundable and may not be canceled or date changed. Rates may not be lowered once confirmed. The Best Rate Guarantee does not apply to this offer. •Full Room and Tax is charged at the time of booking.

I usually do not read the fine print, so just in case someone is like me, remember to read the fine print.

I never heard of the ';rates will not be lowered'; thing

Suz....there are several hotels that have been publishing the Guaranteed Rate which is non-refundable. I am glad you noticed the terms, because that is reason it is a lower fare.

The hotel is giving you a guarantee that the room is at the lowest rate available, and in return, the hotel is guaranteed that the room you reserve will be paid whether you stay there or not.

I avoid those deals, because we have elderly parents and may need to cancel so don%26#39;t want to be locked into an agreement such as that....and when we were booking our rooms noticed that those rates were only approximately $10.00 or so less that the reservation with the promo codes I used so wasn%26#39;t that much of an additional savings anyway for us.
