When is the LV Off Season? Help Findind a Hotel

I love lux hotels, but some of the prices ($595 per night for a Bella Suite at the Venetian) are just a bit too much. How do you get the rates down, or when is the off season for hotels so I can get a lower rate.

Planning on either comming to LV or Cancun for a ';girls vacay'; in either March or in August for my birthday (yes I plan early :). There will be 3 or 4 of us so we don%26#39;t mind paying a little extra for hotel accomidations, but we still want money to spend on gambling LOL!

We would like a 4 or 5 star hotel with nice pools, great bars, 30ish crowd (we are all 21-24 but we like older people most of the time), and it must have a spa.

Any Suggestions?

Thank you!

Best deals are early december, and the week after christmas, end of april, and early may.

When is the LV Off Season? Help Findind a Hotel

Right after Thanksgiving until Christmas Day is good. Then the end of January (Though the CES and AEA fill up hotels) until March (Spring Break fills things up fast). From March you run into Convention Season. After labor day through October. Your March plan is probably the best; August is the height of the tourist season-and the hottest part of the year in the valley...

Ahh, I%26#39;m getting old (which I guess might be good as I%26#39;m in the upper-30ish age group you prefer) ;) This is the second part of your post.

A short list of hotels that might be players for you:

HRH - though again if you and your buds prefer an older group this might be too much of a party hotel for you. But the pool is excellent as is the exercise facility. Realize it%26#39;s off the strip, but they have an excellent shuttle service to most of the locations on LV Boulevard.

Luxor - Good deals (often you can upgrade to a jacuzzi suite from a single for $50/night if you ask) . Nice pool, older crowd Lots of families...

Mandalay Bay - Usually run concerts at the ';Beach';: their pool has real sand and a wave machine. The Shark Reef%26#39;s pretty cool too.

Palm - this off the strip out by the Rio but is becoming the hippest place to party.

Now as to reducing the price. If you qualify for a business or government rate: ask for it. Also, ask if there%26#39;s any upgrades like the Luxor mentioned above. If you are truly there in a slow season there%26#39;s no reason why the hotel won%26#39;t at least try to upgrade you.

Finally, realize I%26#39;m from Las Vegas, so what I%26#39;m putting out there is not meant to be sleazy BY ANY MEANS: Many ladies in your age group, pick up contracts as dancers in the ';Gentlemen%26#39;s Clubs'; around the strip. You can make up $800-900 a weekend; though you would have to supply your own costumes etc. This is JUST a suggestion, and should not be taken as implying anything about you or your pals. (Dancing downtown to locals is not that big a deal)

Best way to find the slow times (inexpesive rates) is to go to any of the Hotels web site and look at the rate calanders. If one is low, all will be low. For example; the Rio has about the biggest rooms in Vegas, rates for one of thier rooms range from 49-to-299 depending on when you go.

Slowest season is from T-Day to Xmas. Least expensive days are Sunday thru Thursday. Weekends are always higher than weekdays. Highest rates are Spring/Fall or when a convention and/or event is in town. Finnaly you can always find good rates by just staying off the strip. Good example is the Golden Nugget downtown, rates range from 49-99, excellent rooms, classy place.

Thanks Grumbles and everyone for the tips!

I guess we are not as cheap as we thought because all those prices seem SUPER low! I also called the VEntian direct to find out their least expensive rate and it was about half the price that it was on an internet site. I think Vegas is the worst city to do internet bookings, the hotels directly have great prices and matching programs

And err, thanks for the stripping tip LOL, maybe if we gamble all of our money away, we might have to take you up on that offer lol!

PS. Thirty something is NOT old! We just like the more laidback/upscale look and attitude of the business/30 something crowd

Thanks again for the great suggestions!
