older kids?

What about older kids? We%26#39;re taking our 12, 15, and 17 year old the first of June for 4 nights. Is it safe enough to let kids of that age take off together in a hotel or mall? Any suggestions on activities for that age? Is Circus Circus too young for them?

Thanks

older kids?

i wouldn%26#39;t

older kids?

because.....

I would turn them loose in the Excalibur rather than the Circus Circus. The is a mall east of the strip but you probably need to have a car to get there. The outlet malls can be reached by using the Deuce. Those two appear pretty safe.

sounds like a fun vacation.

i would stay at the orleans. they have a movie theater and a bowling alley to keep the kids busy and lots of good dining options. i would also plan to rent a car so you can get around more cheaply than even the bus for 5 people.

We%26#39;re staying at the Signature. I was hoping to sightsee and Casino hop in the larger hotels. I%26#39;m just not sure what the kids could do for an hour or so in each place.

you are the parent and should do what you know is right for your children. it amazes me that adults, parents, ask here for parenting advice.

If you have to ask you already know the answer....

my opinion, since asked, is that his age group does not belong in LV. They are old enough to be very impressionable, are likely to see things/behaviors they should not, are old enough to want to try to acccess casinos and lounges. We never brought out children to LV until they were 21, my g%26#39;kids the same. There is no good reason for us. For you there may be - this is a PARENTING decision, why do you need advice of strangers

a one-year old is not influenced by all things LV.

I need advice obviously because I haven%26#39;t been there before. It most US cities, I would feel fine for my kids to be in a shop without me or hotel game room without me. It helps to know other%26#39;s opinions. If you don%26#39;t like to give it, then don%26#39;t answer.

My first trip to Vegas will be in 3 weeks. I have been reading this site daily. Thanks to all posters on here for the great tips and ideas.

I could be wrong but.....in my mind the majority of parents go to Vegas for a getaway...from work....from kids etc. to kind of revive themselves and come back home refreshed and renewed albeit very tired. If you want a vacation with your kids then wouldn%26#39;t you go to a more kid friendly spot.

Just my take on these ';kids in Vegas'; questions.

We%26#39;re going to vegas on our way to hike the southern utah canyons. It seems a waste to go through there and not see what it%26#39;s like, even if we have the kids. I expect there will be a few learning experiences for them in vegas, but that%26#39;s okay. I%26#39;m a teacher and kids who live a sheltered life don%26#39;t really know how to handle bad things that they could be faced with eventually. I wouldn%26#39;t do that with younger kids who couldn%26#39;t understand though.
