Luxor Promo

I%26#39;ve used a Venetian promo in the past where I had to pay for a four night stay in full when I booked. That was non-refundable too.

I sit through the hotel direct or through a broker ie Travelocity, Orbitz.....

Jeff

12thgear, not quite sure what you%26#39;re trying to say in that last post or even what it has to do with this thread......... :-)

I was asking if those deals were through the hotels direct or through a travel site. Hotels don%26#39;t usually make you pay for all the days up front with no chance to cancel or change.

That%26#39;s what I was trying to say.

Thanks for keeping me on my toes Blagger

I thought that was weird too!! I hope it%26#39;s not a trend!

Hey Pook....I just replied to a similar post about the Guaranteed Rate issue.

There are several hotels that have been publishing the Guaranteed Rate which is non-refundable. I am glad you noticed the terms, because that is reason it is a lower fare.

The hotel is giving you a guarantee that the room is at the lowest rate available, and in return, the hotel is guaranteed that the room you reserve will be paid whether you stay there or not. Now what it also it tells you is that if you end up seeing a great promo code on Fatwallet (for example), the hotel won%26#39;t honor that code since the rate you have is guaranteed at the price when you reserved the room.

I avoid those deals, because we have elderly parents and may need to cancel so don%26#39;t want to be locked into an agreement such as that....and when we were booking our rooms noticed that those rates were only approximately $10.00 or so less that the reservation with the promo codes I used so wasn%26#39;t that much of an additional savings anyway for us.

I can see this type of agreement working if it is close to the arrival date and still available however, so if I lived in California or some state closer than where we live, I might consider that type of rate. I hope my rambling makes some sense.
