hotel question

I have a question for some of you travelers to vegas. If you book a room early and get a cheap rate and then as time goes a long the price goes up do the hotels only charge you the price of the room at the time you booked at or the newer higher rate?

hotel question

As far as I have always been led to believe once you have a firm booking you are locked in regarding price ----except if it goes DOWN you can ask for the LOWER rate

hotel question

Good Question.

The price that you booked is the price you pay Most of The Time.

Be sure and ask the travel agent or whoever you booked with

that the price you payed is the guaranteed price. Usually the

only time the price changes is if you change any part of the trip

you book. Then they might charge a Penalty Fee.

once you have a confirmation number, that%26#39;s your price, guaranteed.

I%26#39;m sorry I must dissagree with the price being guaranteed with a confirmation #. This is only true if you book directly through the hotel like MGM.com etc. There price is firm with a first night deposit and a guaranteed rate and room. With Expedia this is not true. My brother got a confirmation # and paid up front for the total of 3 nights in vegas at NYNY hotel thru expedia. When he arrived they said since he booked through expedia that they overbooked there block of rooms and he didn%26#39;t have a guaranteed room at no matter how much he paid expedia. He had no other choice but to book a upgraded room that they had available that weekend and had to pay again for his room at the NYNY hotel for his nights at there rate. He had to fight with expedia 3 weeks to get his money back and they still charged him a $25.00 booking fee that is non refundable from expedia. Please book directly with the hotel. You normally get the best rate anyway with all the coupons and extra perks when in las vegas.

Well, I%26#39;ll add my two cents. I go to Vegas quite a bit, I look for the cheapest price via Travelaxe and I also check with the casino. You never can tell who will be the cheapest and I%26#39;d say recently its about 50/50. I just booked a one night stay at Buffalo Bills (staying there one night on the way out) for 16.00 through travelaxe/travelswitch, when I called the hotel they said the best they could do was 45.00. I asked if there was any difference in the rooms and she said it would be the same room either way. Either way its a cheap room but I%26#39;m getting 2 rooms and it costs a third as much, thats a deal.
