9 lb. Burger!!

I was watching the Travel Channel last night and they were at the Vegas Club in Downtown and apparently they have one of the biggest burgers in the country there. A 9 lb. burger!!! The thing was HUGE!!! I%26#39;ve definitely got to try this out!!! All the years we%26#39;ve been going to Vegas, and have been to the Vegas Club many times, I%26#39;ve never heard that they had this burger there. Has anyone else tried it or seen it???

9 lb. Burger!!

ah.. the old 96%26#39;er.. Nah-that%26#39;s what it%26#39;s called in some movie or another (john candy movie? or was that a steak?). Here is what I could find out about it:

';Home of the 9LB Burger - eat it ALL up in 24 Hours and it%26#39;s FREE! (but your bowels won%26#39;t be...)

and from their website:

For those non-diet conscious carnivores who consider a half-pound hamburger a mere appetizer, the Upper Deck Restaurant at the Vegas Club Hotel and Casino in Downtown Las Vegas has just the hamburger: the 9 pound ';Big Daddy Burger.'; Served with a bun 12'; in diameter, a half head of lettuce, two tomatoes, two onions, four pickles, mayo, mustard and 12 slices of American cheese, the burger big enough to feed a softball team is available for $49.99. If one person finishes the burger within 24 hours, it is free!

9lb or 9oz?

That%26#39;s answered my question. Thanks BJM. Sounds obscene.

Here%26#39;s your Giant Meat Sandwich dude, knock yourself out.

I%26#39;ll pass on the $49.95 ';Burger Meal Deal'; though and treat myself and NINE of my closest friends/enemies to this fabulous culinary treat for the same fifty bucks:

';World Famous Ellis Island $4.95 Strip Sirloin Steak Special';

That%26#39;s completely disgusting. I love hamburgers as much as the next chick, but...ick.

If you finished the whole thing nobody would know whether to be happy that you got it for free or sad that you finished it. Not the kind of notoriety I would want ';Hey there%26#39;s the man-pig that choked down the 9 pounder!';

how can you eat it over 24 hours? do you sit there at the table for 24 hours?????

dont get it.

You have up to 24 hours, but you can bail whenever... In order for it to be free though, you%26#39;d have to eat it all. They would not let you leave, I would assume, as they want to be sure you are not using eating disorder techniques to empty the stomach here and there.

Pretty gross...wouldn%26#39;t the Health Department have some ';issues'; with food (cooked or not!) sitting out for 24 hours on the table? I can%26#39;t imagine this thing is looking too good after 4-5 hours sitting out...
