Looks like you can get to the Boulder Highway casinos....Boulder Station, Ariz. Charlies %26amp; Sams on the 107 city bus.
Has anyone done this?
If so, is there a $5 pass just like the Duece?
Won%26#39;t have a rental, so that%26#39;s not an option.
Thanks,
Mar.
Using the CAT to Boulder HighwayThe cost depends on precisely where you purchase the pass. If you buy on The Duece it%26#39;s $5/24 hours and good anywhere. If you purchase on ANY OTHER bus it%26#39;s $2.50 and good on anything BUT the Duece, although you can ride it for for an additional 50 cents.
The best route to Sam%26#39;s Town is actually their free shuttle, available from multiple locations. Schedules are consistent and run on time. If staying downtown the #107 is the choice, or the #202 which runs up and down Flamingo. Be forewarned, like most city bus systems it%26#39;s rather slow. Think 20 minutes to Sams from the DTC and at least twice that from Strip, as against 5-15 minutes with the shuttle.
Using the CAT to Boulder HighwayThanks Cat.
Where exactly is the downtown bus place. I guess that is where you get on the 107? Or does it also stop where the Duece is ?
I think the best bet for getting to Sams from Downtown is their free shuttle bus , which parks on the side of the Fremont Casino Downtown and goes back and forth many times each day. It may be one of any number of bus lines, so if you see a bus parked there just ask if it%26#39;s the Sam%26#39;s Shuttle. I%26#39;m pretty convinced it would not be worth the hassle of going to the Downtown Bus Depot- which is a few blocks north of Fremont and not in the best of areas but anyone can direct you- to get to Boulder Hwy , because I really feel only Sam%26#39;s is at all worth the trip there. You can only pick up 107 at the Downtown Depot- it does not follow the Deuce route.
The bus for Sam%26#39;s Town stops outside the California, which is a sister casino to Sam%26#39;s Town. Both Fremont and California will have schedules available at their concierge desk, near check-in. It runs approximately every 90 minutes.
Yes, we did use the shuttle to Sam%26#39;s from the Fremont on our March trip. It was clean %26amp; on time, free plus a tip for the driver. We then took it to Harrah%26#39;s...kind of relaxing to have someone do the driving for you. That was when we won the infamous cheese grater, for earning 400 points, I think it was!
So do you think Boulder Station %26amp; Ariz. Charlie%26#39;s are worth taking a look at?
I just thought it might be fun to see a couple other off strip casinos. But if it is a hassle we will stay on Fremont.
Thanks for the advice.
I might check out Boulder Station, as much for future reference as anything else. They have decent free rock cover bands on weekends. Also, if you%26#39;re familiar with the Stations casino chain Boulder will happily send you room offers for minimal play. Don%26#39;t bother with AZ Charlie%26#39;s unless you%26#39;re going strictly for their meal deals.
