Cannery, Fiesta, Sunset Station or Hacienda

Hey, looking for a one night stay before checking into more long term hotel in Vegas. I%26#39;d like something a little different and inexpensive, but not icky. Vegas Man suggested these three as possibles after Mesquite, NV and before Golden Nugget and Bellagio.

Do any of you have an opinion on these hotels.... which place for the most fun,,, not kid centered, and nice, but not plush (or expensive). Which has something unique to offer?

Thanks in advance!

Cannery, Fiesta, Sunset Station or Hacienda

I%26#39;ve stayed at both the Fiesta (Henderson, not Rancho) and the Sunset Station. Both hotels were nice (not icky), offered good food, and loose slots (compared to those offered on the Strip). Sunset Station has a nightclub and is surrounded by lots of restaurants, shopping, movies, etc., whereas the Fiesta is surrounded by residential neighborhoods. As far as unique, I don%26#39;t really think any of the 4 you listed are unique. You%26#39;ll have to head to the Strip for that.

Cannery, Fiesta, Sunset Station or Hacienda

All of them are ';neighborhood'; places without much character that cater to locals. My choice for a neighborhood hotel for a night would be Orleans.

Solid, inexpensive 3+ star hotel with nice rooms, really good grub - Prime Rib Loft and Buffet (Boiled crawdads, yummm) - and fun gamblin. Kids will be in the movie theatres, pool, bowling alley or arcade. Consistently rated in the Top 5 in all Las Vegas in tripadvisor.

I doubt Steve has been to or even knows where the Cannery is if he says it has no character. Got to love the Pin-ups they use for advertising.

One thing nice about the location of Fiesta Rancho is that it is next to Texas Station. Between the two, they have a great deal to do. Also out of those listed, Fiesta Rancho has the most direct access to downtown and the strip. Texas has Kid%26#39;s Quest, but Fiesta is not really geared for children at all.

Cannery is to far off from everything - it%26#39;s a nice property, but it%26#39;s the only thing out their.

Hacienda - is it even a hotel anymore????

Sunset - nice, part of the Texas/Fiesta/Stations group, but again limited as to things to do.

The hacienda is a small hotel by Lake Mead, it was great for us when we took out boat as it is really close to the docks. BUT the gambling options are limited,1-3 bj tables, one roulette, no poker and I think there was 1-2 craps table. They did have a great steak restaurant though!! Fiesta Henderson is my favorite casino off the strip!! Great food, great service, pretty boring location but great for us when we go to the lake. Don%26#39;t know much about the other casinos but hope this helped!

Yes, VHM the Hacienda still exists....the bartender told us it mysteriously ';burned down'; a few years ago

You mean I actually have to know where someplace is and go there to offer an opinion on it? WOW...

Sunset Station first choice. Its in the Henderson/Green Valley area of town...nice area and across the street from a large shopping mall...has theater, hooters restaurant, brewery, and usually outdoor concerts if friday or saturday stay.
