advice on Tours4Fun - 3 day LV and Grand Canyon tour/trip

Hey, guys. MY wife and I are planning to go to Las Vegas from LA/Orange County area (we%26#39;re from out of the country, and we will be arriving in LA via SF on the 29th of July).

Our objective was to go to LV, go to a day trip to the Grand Canyon, and also see one to two shows in LV, particularly, Mama Mia and Cirque du Soleil, (which we%26#39;re still undecided on, Ka, Mysterie or Love).

Now our original plan is to take a plane or bus to LV from LA, stay somewhere decent like a 3 star hotel on the strip called Stratosphere for only $50-60 a night, then take another web-based day trip from LV to the Grand Canyon, then come back at the end of the day, and catch a show.

How reliable is the trip, how good are the tour guides, and is this a good tour/trip altogether?

Thanks, Las Vegas experts!

There%26#39;s lots of things not so great with your plan!

Don%26#39;t take a bus from LA to Vegas. You%26#39;re looking at 5-6 hours depending on traffic (possibly more if you%26#39;re leaving from the OC). Fly by whatever means. Southwest fly from OC to Vegas six times a day with yet more flights from LAX.

If you%26#39;ve only got 3 days in Vegas then forget about the Grand Canyon. Save it for another time - it%26#39;s going to take too much of your very limited time. Use the money to stay at a better hotel. The Stratosphere is an ok place but its location is terrible. Have a look at Bill%26#39;s, Flamingo, Harrah%26#39;s or (the cheapest but least pleasant option) Imperial Palace. As you%26#39;re avoiding the weekend rates shouldn%26#39;t be too bad.

Of the shows you mention, I%26#39;d recommend you see Mystere. Book as soon as possible.

Thank you for your reply. Yeah, I realize the 5 hour land trip to Vegas, but we were on a budget, and that tours4fun seemed like $200 cheaper versus going on our own via plane, hotel and Grand Canyon day tour.
